Subaru BRZ Kiiro: A Summer's Day in Yellow
Subaru of New Zealand is making waves with the introduction of the BRZ Kiiro, a limited-edition model that's sure to turn heads. This vibrant coupe comes in a unique color, Sunrise Yellow, which is a factory-named shade. But it's not just the color that makes this car special.
Limited Edition, Limited Run
Only 10 of these BRZ Kiiro models will be imported to New Zealand, making it a rare find for enthusiasts. Each car is a manual-only, STI-tuned version of the BRZ coupe, featuring 18-inch STI wheels, a strut brace, STI gearlever/start button, drilled disc rotors, and a mesh grille. These specifications are standard for the production model, but the yellow hue sets it apart.
The Name and Its Origin
The name 'Kiiro' is derived from the Japanese kanji script for the color yellow, adding a touch of cultural significance to the vehicle's identity. This attention to detail extends to the packaging, as each car comes with a numbered presentation key box (1-10) and an engraved key ring, similar to previous special editions like the BRZ tS Tsubasa, WRX AKA, Tatsu, and Todoroki.
A Global Phenomenon
The Sunrise Yellow colorway is not exclusive to New Zealand. It's being offered under various names worldwide, such as the Sport Yellow Edition in the US. This limited-edition model is a testament to Subaru's ability to create a buzz with niche models, offering enthusiasts a unique and desirable vehicle.
