Capturing a Moment in Time: Ahmad Mansour's Phone Photography Adventure (2026)

A Photographer's Eye: Capturing a Moment in Time

In a world where everyone carries a camera in their pocket, freelance photographer Ahmad Mansour showcases the power of mobile photography. His captivating image, taken during a visit to Al Max, a fishing neighborhood in Alexandria, Egypt, tells a story beyond its vibrant colors.

"I was there with friends, exploring the area and documenting the lives of the fishermen," Mansour recalls. "The atmosphere was electric; the sun shone brightly, and the sound of the water and the fishermen's shouts filled the air."

But here's where it gets interesting: Mansour climbed a small building to capture this unique perspective. "I wanted to capture the men and the sardines from above," he explains. "The top-view angle inspired me, and I felt it balanced the colors beautifully."

And this is the part most people miss: Mansour didn't have a camera at the time. "It's all about your vision and your drive to capture it," he emphasizes. "I wanted to create a snapshot, a small moment in time, that would feel like a scene from a movie."

Since Mansour took this photo in 2019, the area has undergone significant changes. Many of the houses around the canal have been demolished, and the fishermen have moved closer to the sea. "It's a different scene now," Mansour says. "But this image captures a moment in time that's gone but not forgotten."

So, what do you think? Is mobile photography a powerful tool for capturing unique perspectives? Or do you believe a traditional camera is essential for such artistic endeavors? Let's discuss in the comments and share our thoughts on the art of photography!
